BlackJet Announces New Chief Marketing Officer

Company Secures Top Talent for Private Jet by-the-seat Expansion, Enhanced Customer Experience

BlackJet, the world’s largest private jet by-the-seat booking company, today announced that recognized aviation and technology expert Joe Leader has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer.  In his new role, Leader will drive all marketing, sales, frequent flyer program creation, and business development strategies for BlackJet.

“BlackJet selected Joe Leader as our Chief Marketing Officer because he provided the perfect blend of aviation and technology marketing knowledge,” BlackJet CEO Dean Rotchin stated.  “When we engaged with Joe last year, we knew that he would be the perfect addition to accelerate BlackJet’s success.”

It's an honor to join the incredible team at BlackJet to serve both our members and our industry. For many years, I have worked with aviation and technology leaders to make private aviation more affordable and accessible. BlackJet's by-the-seat model has effectively lowered private jet prices for individuals by 70% on the most frequented routes in America by leveraging technology to aggregate demand. There's a giant chasm between the $1000 first class airline ticket and the $10,000 private jet flight. BlackJet provides the ideal solution.

Joe Leader, Chief Marketing Officer, BlackJet

Prior to joining BlackJet, Leader served in top roles at aviation and technology companies for the past two decades.  Leader worked as the President of the Air Taxi Association (ATXA), founded with the backing of next-generation air taxi and air charter companies across the United States and Europe.  From ATXA, Leader advanced technology to enable air taxi and air charter aircraft on-line booking with one of the largest GDS companies in the world.  Leader’s previous corporate experience includes top positions at LSI (an Avago Technologies Company), American Megatrends, Inc. (AMI), West Physics, PossibleNOW, and co-ownership of a targeted marketing company that later sold to Epsilon.  Last year, Leader’s efforts led to the formation of the largest Cirrus SR-22 air taxi company in the United States with the successful merger of ImagineAir and Kavoo.

“It’s an honor to join the incredible team at BlackJet to serve both our members and our industry,” Leader stated.  “For many years, I have worked with aviation and technology leaders to make private aviation more affordable and accessible.  BlackJet’s by-the-seat model has effectively lowered private jet prices for individuals by 70% on the most frequented routes in America by leveraging technology to aggregate demand.  There’s a giant chasm between the $1000 first class airline ticket and the $10,000 private jet flight.  BlackJet provides the ideal solution.”

Leader has been previously engaged as a key presenter for the FAA, National Business Aviation Association, European Business Aviation Association, Latin American Aviation Association, Customer Engagement Marketing Summit, Direct Marketing Association, and Loyalty360.  In addition, Leader has been quoted with his aviation expertise by major publications including the The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Financial Times, and the Harvard Business Review.  Leader’s business Ph.D. dissertation research focused upon accelerating the adoption of new air taxi and air charter flight options.  Leader also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Emory University alongside an MBA/MTM focused upon technology management.
